Useful Tool: BlogJet: Desktop Blogging Made Easy

Blogjet

I have tried several blog publishing tools over the last 6 months (Performancing, Writely, GoogleDocs, Ecto and 3 different WYSIWYG’s).  None of them are as slick, smooth and sexy as BlogJet.

What do I love about it?

1. No browser required.
2. Image editing is a snap!
3. Intelligent spell check
4. Edit past posts in a click
5. Text formatting couldn’t be easier
6. Access to unlimited accounts
7. Super clean HTML
8. Stats
9. Online help
10 Voice Recorder
11. Category
12. Page breaker
13. Smileys
14. BlogThis for blogging right from the browser (IE and FF compatible)
15. Instant YouTube upload
16. Instant File Upload (PDFs for example)

What challenges are there?
1. Can’t create categories, must use the ones already on your blog
2. It’s not free ($39.95)

Other than the price, I imagine that they will solve the above challenges in subsequent versions of the software.  Even with the few items mentioned above, I give it an ‘A’ for usability and function.

I really like it but like you said it has some down falls. It doesn't appear to have a managing area, I seem to need to download a blog on my computer if I'm not finished with it. The other thing that I haven't figured out is typically you aren't quite sure where you want your page break and there doesn't appear to be a way to bring it back in and then load it to her site again...at least I'm to afraid to try it. I have a page break problem right now with one coming on tomorrow that's in my managing section of the old publishing tool.

Jim and Gena: You guys are critically ahead of me. Miles ahead. I am just grateful to have a tool that gets Product A over to Point B. It's also loyal, has a good memory, and responds when I want it to.

Not bad!

Gena,
I think the function you are looking for is the "Save as Draft" option. Under "Blog" in the menu, you'll find it. This allows you to save an unfinished article.

As for the Page Break (or Extended page as they call it) you simply need to click on the dashed line that is created after you 'break' the page and drag it to the desired location. You could also (after selecting it) simply click your "Del" key and that would remove it completely, allowing you to try another section completely.

I hope that helps.

Roberta,

They way you describe it, sounds like quite the 'catch' :)

Jim, are you familiar with blogging software that can include the MLS? I don't think I've ever seen a blog with it, have you?
